"Caring for my grandmother was an act of love that introduced me to the world of care work, but it also opened my eyes to the harsh realities many of us face. Despite the long hours and the heavy responsibilities, I still experienced poverty-level wages – a reality for care far too many care workers across the country.

After suffering a stroke, I found myself on the other side of care, relying on my young daughter to fill the gaps in a broken care system. This experience deepened my commitment to care work and clarified how critical it is to raise wages, benefits, and protections for care workers. Care workers deserve to live with dignity and continue to provide the compassionate care that so many of us depend on."
